Nice Running

Ooh my friends, I ran 12 km:s tonight, and I have to say it was not that bad at all … :) I held quite an easy pace most of the time, but when the end was near (I was aiming for 10 km:s) I started running faster, actually I ran as fast as I was able to – and to my surprise I just was not able to stop … So I kept on. Just ran with all my strength. – Around 1.5 km:s! (Which is marvelous in my world.) The last 0.5-0.8 km:s I kept quite an easy pace, again, but I managed to run all the way home. It felt great! :)

And now I'm awaiting tomorrow's leg condition with terror.

Bilingual

I just decided that this my blog will be, yes, bilingual. Which means that I will write both in Swedish and English. Wonderful!

Jag läste min gamla blogg, maisondandreas – un blog finlandais de tout sous la soleil – och konstaterade att det var trevligt att läsa på svenska … Kör man med engelska så förstår ju fler. Men det är ju inte alls lika trevligt.

På tal om svenska så läste jag i Språktidningen att det svenska språket är väldigt populärt i Tyskland just nu, och Sverige likaså. Tyskarna tycker att Sverige är ett mycket idylliskt och underbart land – samtidigt som Sverige lär ska vara väldigt pop bland nederländarna som inte längre vill bo i sitt (trånga) land. IKEA-effekt?

The Fruits of the Earth for the Season

I like autumn times (although some people would not say we've reached that season yet, I feel it still). That is the season when the Earth brings forth the fruits it's been keeping to itself during the Summer months. All kinds of fruits: apples, plums, vegetables of all kinds – and not least mushrooms. I utilised the lattest of these today as I prepared the most wonderful chanterelle soup. I really need to admit it: it was delicious! Part of the glory indeed goes to the Swedish News Paper Hufvudstadsbladet for providing me with the recipe, but without the Fruits of the Earth there would not have been a lot done, with or without any recipe found in any paper (or elsewhere). So, the greatest praise goes to our Father in Heaven who brings forth all of the most marvelous creations from the soil that we thread. Thanks!

New Dimensions

A thought which indeed had struck me earlier about the title of my blog is that it not only can be regarded as my wish to be in good condition as a praise to my Lord, but also – and I like this – that I am, not fit for fight this time, but ready for You Jesus. May it be a prophetic word both for my life as well as the life of others.

Encounters

Today I thought I went to school, which I in fact did – the thing was just that there was no school, at least not when and where I supposed it to be. So after trying to get in contact with a classmate and talking in the phone with another friend, a call which turned out to be surprisingly deep, I decided to head for the centre instead riding my beloved bike.

The target of my trip was (of course) the largest book store in town (which by the way is if not the largest, then among the largest in Northern Europe), Akademen – there you have it, some advertising. I was looking for a book about focusing on your strengths by an author called Marcus Buckingham and as I went there I was thinking of the Middle Ages, and especially the spiritual life during that period (ie Christian spirituality), wanting to discover God's presence also during this particular era. Well, as I went into the book shop among the first things I laid my eyes on was a collection of spiritual music from the Middle Ages, sold to quite a low prise. I have it in my CD player now.

On the upper floor I saw one of my classmates from the Hebrew studies standing behind the cashier but I did not greet her at once but went to see the books on languages (which is one of my absolute favourites …) – where I to my greatest satisfaction got my hands on a book with Hebrew verb conjugation, something I've been looking for a long time. I went to show the book to my friend and she went almost nuts, saying "Oh my goodness, I need that book – now!". So she went and took one – the last one – and sold it to herself. :) She was especially happy since she needed to do some Hebrew translation and in that task the book'd come in especially handy.

Going to the department store side I met another friend just finishing her shopping at the food store. We had a good chat on some important stuff.

Biking home was nice. But I would pay 1000 € in order to get my sweating done in a nice and convenient way when doing work out. So much about that.

Yael Naïm was born in one of my favourite cities in the world (although I never went there) Paris and grew up in one of my favourite countries in the world, Israel. Back in Paris she's singing in English, French and Hebrew. I like the video to this song very much – and the landscapes do resemble the Finnish ones alot.

Fit for Jesus

The name of this blog is Fit for Jesus and my vision is that I would be posting notes on health and staying fit, from my own little point of view. My only connection to this issue is that I during a period of two years lost between 15 and 20 kg, and I would like to share a bit about this process and also some things about health that I feel I learnt along the way.

Why Jesus? Mainly because I am a Christian and I want to live my life glorifying Him and I've more and more come to the conclusion that one of the ways of doing it is by eating healthy, doing workout that you enjoy and keeps your body fit and sound – simply by taking good care of yourself, giving value to your own life. I've realised that it is easier and by all means also more credible to love and help others when you're equally doing it to yourself.
